Info
An architect’s personal residence is often a project that evolves over time as the pieces of an envisioned master plan are carefully implemented.
In 1995, Ginny and her husband purchased a small Cape Cod built in 1939 and located just two blocks west of the bustling 50th and France commercial district in Edina, Minnesota. The home originally consisted of 1,600 square feet with a single car detached garage. Through a series of renovations that have tracked the growth of her family, Ginny has creatively transformed this traditional Cape Cod into a 3,600 square foot modern home with a two car garage connected by an innovative three-season porch. From the curb, the home blends elegantly with the neighborhood as a consequence of Ginny’s carefully scaled additions that cleverly disguise the home’s overall size.
The home beautifully accommodates Ginny’s family of four with open flowing spaces, exquisite natural and electrical lighting, and the latest in entertainment system technology. A recent renovation upgraded the basement into an entertainment level complete with lounge, full bar, powder room, and adjacent multi-use “hockey room”.
